We were so thrilled with the looks and trends that debuted at LAFW this past ’16 season that we collaborated with Behind the Skirt to show you all of our favorite looks- in a way that you can wear them! We will have Stephanie and Nicole, a.k.a “The P. Kid Chicks”, take it from here.
“Fashion is in our blood. From our great grandmother and four generations down, we’ve all been involved in fashion. Whether it was making wedding gowns or designing and sewing real human hair for wigs, our family legacy in fashion goes way back. It’s no wonder the world of fashion has always appealed to us and recently one of the greatest fashion events in the west coast made it’s mark on our closet: LA Fashion Week
LA Fashion Week stirs quite a lot of commotion in the west coast where hundreds of people come together to make this one of the most memorable fashion events in LA. Designers showcase their collections and left us with a view of their perspective on fashion.
Models left and right, back stage teams, ongoing work for days, and perfecting everything to the last detail awaiting the arrival for the elegance and zeal that these fashion artists and their design teams suture for the eager eyes of fashion hungry inspirers everywhere. The runway had to be flawless and it totally made a lasting impression.
It was thrilling to see it all come together and more so to see how so many people can all work for the same goal: A real passion for fashion. The collections featured designers such as Marcelo Quadros, Cindy Wei Zhang and Rinda Salmun to name a few.
Here we put together 6 looks inspired by the collections at LAFW”
– Steph 😉
Steph: This first look was inspired by Datari Austin’s fun and flirty collection of cute feminine pieces. It’s very LA girl. Thigh high boots are trending this fall and they look great with this fun dress.
Dress: DVF | Boots: Nine West | Fur Collar: Bebe
Designer Inspiration : Datari Austin
Nicole: Inspired by Cecilia Echenique, this gorgeous eyelet lace dress reminded me so much of her collection. I paired it with an embroidered vest since embroidered garments are a hot trend this fall.
Dress & Vest: forever21| Heels: Sofft
Designer Inspiration : Cecilia Echenique
Steph: I think my look was inspired by 2 collections. Liason by
Aurelias used fabrics with a lot of movement while Danila Bozza used a lot of satin and silky fabrics. Bomber jackets are very in this season and this one in particular reminded me a lot of Daniela Bozza. These rich suede burgundy heels also make this a great fall look.
Blouse: Comme Toi | Bomber: Pull & Bear | Skirt Maison Jules| Heels: Steve Madden | Sunglasses: Forever21
Liason by Aurelias
Designer Inspo: Daniela Bozza
Nicole: Blond & Bieber had a very linear inspired collection with some structured pieces. This soft look was inspired but this minimalistic collection. Although darker colors are trending this fall I couldn’t help but fall in love with the simplicity and elegance of this look.
Blouse: Zara | Skirt: The Nist | Heels: Halogen
Inspired By: Blond & Bieber
Steph: Designer Rinda Salmun from Indonesia inspired this look. Her collection featured a lot of geometrically combined prints with gorgeous color palettes. I added a trench coat and some faux suede boots since these are two items that will be trending this fall.
Blouse & Skirt: Express | Trench Coat: Bebe | Boots: Forever21
Designer Inspo: Rinda Salmun
Nicole: This bold and edgy relaxed look was inspired by Irish Latina. A color filled collection with some seriously hip vibes. Girly, bright, and loud I thought this would be a perfect ode to Irish Latina.
Jacket & Tee: Zara | Skirt: Forever21 | Sneakers: Converse
Designer Inspiration: Irish Latina
